Maple Morning

Hello sunshines! I hope everyone is well rested, refreshed and ready for a fantastic Sunday morning. I didn't sleep very well last night, so I let myself lie in bed until 11:15 this morning. Isn't that what Sundays are for?

Last night I had a bowl of Mueslix/Oatmeal Squares with half an apple and skim milk while I caught up on my shows.

I ended up going back for another bowl of Mueslix which I wasn't too proud of, but when the hunger bug bites, it's hard to make it go away.

This morning I had a cherry fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt from Whole Foods ($.79!).

My uncle came in from Wisconsin to have lunch. We'd been planning on getting Turkish food at Black Sea, but I forgot that they're not open on Sundays. We went to Trotter's instead, which was was delicious as usual. They specialize in fresh, local and organic food; they have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, and very yummy breakfasts.

We both got the maple cornmeal pancake, which the menu described as "plate-sized." It was huge, but so delicious. The texture was lovely- the perfect combination of grainy and fluffy. I spread a little butter on it and had maple syrup on the side for dipping. I also got a café Americano (2 shots espresso with hot water; I added skim milk and sugar in the raw).

I'm off to go study with the girlies. Have a fabulous Sunday!
