Back On The Saddle

Good morning! I woke up bright and early, ready to greet the day because... I went to the gym! I was really excited to go, and sprung out of bed and put on the birthday duds I'd never gotten to wear because of my injury.

Before I left, I had the last piece of protein bread with Smart Balance and prunes.

I loved this combination (which I borrowed from Erin), but there's something about the flavor of Smart Balance that really gets to me. I looked it up online, and there doesn't seem to be any fish oil in it (the Omega-3s appear to come from plants) but it tastes really fishy! I noticed it the other day, too, and it might be too much for my palate to take. Sad.

On to my workout!

I had a nice, easy bike ride (stationary) and got some of my French reading done at the same time. Biking is so efficient! Here are my stats:

2.21 miles
253 calories burned
35:00 minutes

I also did a few machines:

pulldown- 3 x 10 @ 30 lbs
chest press- 3 x 10 @ 10 lbs
shoulder press- 3 x 10 @ 10 lbs
row/rear deltoid- 3 x 10 @ 10 lbs

I came home and had a nice big bowl of oatmeal, but tried to mix it up a bit and came up with: tart pumpkin pie oats!

1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 granny smith apple
pumpkin
flax seeds
pecans
brown sugar

With coffee and vitamins; I added vitamin C and Cold Snap to the mix because I sense some winter sniffles coming on. I ordered some more vitamins to re-stock; hopefully they'll be here soon!

Great start to the weekend. Happy Friday!

ewwwwwww fishy pb? that's narsty. I don't think I'll be buying Smart Balance PB anytime soon. I stick to my unsalted Trader Joe's...it's by FAR the cheapest...and incredibly delicious.

I still need to try the prune combo though. Interesting!!

Your oats look gorg. as in gorgeous tooooooo!

HAPPPPPPPY FRIDAY KATIE! love the stationary biking idea. with this cold weather, that sounds perfecttttttt.
