Bitten on the bum by the light blue Bull

I regretted that Red Bull last night as I tossed and turned in bed for what felt like hours. When I finally did fall asleep, I woke up a few hours later at FOUR THIRTY, wide awake. Humbug!

But first:

I had a pretzel snack last night in the library (with my lovely French bibliography):

This morning, when my alarm went off, it was really hard to will myself to get out of bed. I don't remember if it was in SELF or Women's Health, but they suggested that when you're trying to convince yourself to get up to go to the gym (or whatever), you should make your bed first. That way, you establish that you can achieve small goals first, and then move on to the bigger ones. I didn't do this (rolling out of bed was enough for me!) but there's always tomorrow.

I had half of a Vanilla Almond Clif Builders bar:

This wasn't terrible, but it's definitely not something I would snack on if I was hankering for a treat.

I went to the gym around 7:30, and got a reasonable workout in It wasn't particularly strenuous, but I know it's better for me to start small instead of diving back in, full-speed. That's what caused my injury in the first place, right?

On the bike:
2.41 miles
272 calories burned
35:00 minutes

Machines:
pulldown- 3 x 10 @ 30 lbs
chest press- 3 x 10 @ 10 lbs
shoulder press- 3 x 10 @ 10 lbs
row/rear delt- 3 x 10 @ 10 lbs
ab- 3 x 10 @ 35 lbs

I made both breakfast and lunch last night so it wouldn't slow me down in the morning. For breakie, a bowl of overnight oats with pumpkin, skim milk, prunes and brown sugar. I'm also drinking a small skim latte.

Coffee money: $2.25
